Google Maps Engine Lite

Google Maps Engine Lite (GMEL) is a new tool that will (hopefully) gain more functionality over time. It is really easy to use and you can already find plenty of videos online to help you use the tool but I think this one is the best........because I made it.





Remember, the workflow for importing into GMEL is:

Collect data --> Create and populate table w location --> Import table into GMEL --> Display relevant data for analysis.

You must have some way for GMEL to locate your data on the map. Typically this will be with a latitude column in your table and a longitude column. You could also use addresses, suburb names or country names.

Don't forget that you can easily take your GMEL maps and view them in Google Earth by exporting to KML. Click on the small folder icon and find the Export to KML link, see below:
